An indoor table tennis table should never be used outdoors even when the sun is shining, as the the chipboard could absorb moisture and swell. Furthermore the indoor table tops are not UV resistant and could fade, respectively lose their good playability. In our experience, both varieties are very weatherproof and the aluminium composite tops are only slightly superior regarding durability. - playing characteristics / thickness of the table tennis table:
